Goodna, Queensland

To meet current needs within the Springfield-Redbank region, Oracle Care plan to develop a 144-bed single-storey care facility in the suburb of Goodna.

Providing a state of the art building that utilises technology and an empowerment service delivery model, this facility will proactively promote resident enabled decision making, wellbeing and independence across life’s journey.

Accommodation

The design will be based on evidence-based good design principles to ensure residents feel safe and comfortable in their home. With single rooms and ensuite bathrooms the design will create a sense of belonging and familiarity by enabling residents to ‘personalise’ their living spaces.

Common areas

The common spaces will include a variety of multi-purpose areas and specific functional areas to support empowerment. These areas will have easy flow to outdoor areas with short distances to travel to facilitate independence and encourage access. Outdoor areas will have adequate shade, reflective areas and activities such as outdoor fitness equipment and a walking track.

Location and local resources

The facility will be centrally located to provide easy access to motorway and public transport. Within close proximity to Goodna Bowls Club, Services Club and Wolston Park Golf Course and only 25km from Brisbane CBD and 15km from Ipswich CBD.

Only a short drive away are the Pan Pacific Peace Gardens, developed to commemorate soldiers of World War II. Complete with meandering pathways featuring memorial plantings and boardwalks that wind through park wetlands, the gardens also offer quiet places for reflection and BBQ facilities for family gatherings.

 

Kalkie, Queensland

Outdoor areas will all have adequate shade, reflective areas and facilitate physical activity with outdoor fitness equipment and walking track.

Location and local resources

Kalkai is in close proximity to Bundaberg CBD and Bargara, a popular tourist location which offers a range of services and retail options for residents. Bundaberg CBD also offers a plethora of local services, shopping and dining options with Bundaberg RSL Club located within an easy distance and bowls clubs accessible in both locations.

 

Highfields, Queensland

To meet identified current needs within the Toowoomba region, Oracle Care plan to develop a 108-bed single-storey care facility in the town of Highfields.

The Highfields Village Shopping Centre offers retail, casual dining options, banks, audiology services, dental, pathology and chemist.  Only 20 mins from Toowoomba CBD and with ready access to public transport, Highfields RSL and bowls club are only a short distance.

Highfields Pioneer Village will also be in close proximity. The village is a tourist attraction that offers a heritage chapel and tours of the fire brigade, ambulance and energy museum. The aim of the village is to preserve the spirit of authentic Australian history and they run a volunteer program that interested residents can participate in to share their wisdom and knowledge with local residents and the many tourists that visit.

The Kwinana Town Centre and is only 32 kilometres south of the Perth CBD. Within close proximity to the Kwinana Marketplace, a newly constructed tavern, medical centre and pharmacy.

The Kwinana Recquatic centre is located close by and offers an extensive aquatic program for seniors. The Kwinana beaches and golf course are also within close proximity and offer additional options for active residents to partake in leisure and fitness activities. The Kwinana area is well known for its wetland and bushland and is often referred to as The Spectacles. It is a perfect place for our ornithological residents.

The Perth Motorplex is located within an easy distance and has licenced bars, casual dining options and state of the art lighting and motor burn out facility. The motorplex holds many prestigious events in drag racing, dirt track speedway and even the world series sprint car speedway.
